The AUA Acopian Center for the Environment is one of Armenia’s foremost promoters of the circular economy and the leading academic institution engaged with solid waste governance. The Center’s activities in the sector include research-based consultancy and support for the Armenian Government to develop new national policies and strategies, guidelines for landfill and local waste management, tools and platforms for landfill mapping, and, notably, facilitation of policy dialogue. While we collaborate on waste-related research projects with the national, territorial, and local authorities, we also closely work with local business associations to promote extended producer responsibility adoption in the country.
